December 2024 – WHEEL of FORTUNE with Andy Nguyen (2025)

WoF Recap: December 10,2024

December 10, 2024December 11, 2024andynwof5 Comments

The start of this year’s sweepstakes had many penalties galore. That really caused an eyesore.

Sunita somehow survived this mess. Winning that BR lessened the stress.

While she’ll be off to WDW to see a fireworks show, Day 2 of the sweepstakes is here and let’s see how things will go.

Someone will win a nice Disney trip. Could it possibly be on a Disney ship?

EPISODE #8077: 🎄DISNEY SECRET SANTA HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY I🎄

Mickey and Minnie escort the hosts from behind the video wall doors.

$1K Toss-Up: WAYW?

S _ N _ A / _ _ T

Kamilah isn’t wearing a SANTA HAT, but she’s correct and let’s meet the next three Secret Santas…

Kamilah Williams (last name not mentioned): big Denzel Washington who does a rap on the air about Ryan and hoping to win this game (and she makes Ryan do the spinaroonie!) (hometown not mentioned)

Lisa Santangelo: lady who enjoys wrapping Christmas gifts (she makes her own bows and ornaments) and going to the candlelight event at EPCOT every Christmas from Orlando

Jared Collier: married man who started a tradition w/ his high school sweetheart 15 years ago when they were dating that they would get each other a Christmas ornament every single year (they now have 30 Disney ornaments so far); he’s also a fan of Ryan’s co-host on KISS-FM Tanya Rad from White House, TN

Popeyes sells some SPICY CHICKEN TENDERS, and Kamilah earns a $450 bonus.

Mystery Round: BEFORE & AFTER

Jared: no T on MW near $650

Kamilah: $850 H, BANKRUPT near $3,500

Lisa: S for sorry

Jared: $1,950 N trio, D for dud

Kamilah: $600 G, one I, $650 L (not quite to DISNEY CRUISE LINE), D repeat

Lisa: C for crud

Jared: E and two A’s, $1,300 V pair, solve…

H A L E N

There’s no such rock group called MOVING VAN HALEN, but he’s correct for $2,750.

Lisa: $2K/Jared: $2,750/Kamilah: $2K

PP/Express Round: PLACE

Kamilah: $550 T, LaT

Lisa: $2K N quartet, one I, $500 R, one O, other side of MDW (lost $2K)

Jared: $500 G, two A’s, $3,500 C, one E (NMV), $500 H…

…but he doesn’t quite escape the BANKRUPT near $650, costing him $4K. After Kamilah says F for flunk, Lisa’s won a trip to AN ENCHANTING WORLD, which is the Aulani Resort & Spa in OAHU worth $7,428.

Lisa: $9,428 cash & Oahu/Jared: $2,750/Kamilah: $2K

This is NOT very good news… -___-

Triple Toss-Up: THING

Nobody’s going home w/ a LUMP OF COAL tonight, and Jaredquickly solves that one.

Speed-Up: PHRASE

Jared will fall short of the big one, so we’ll have to settle for the $1,500 minimum.

Jared: 2 T’s

Lisa: N (DUD)
Jared: 2 R’s

SEASON-LOW GT: a pathetic $21,678
BANKRUPT TRASH (minus WC): $11,800

Considering how bad this maingame went, I don’t have much faith in Lisa for the next segment after she picks from this generic category list…

  • PERSON
  • THING
  • PHRASE

She goes for PERSON.

$100K Bonus Round

After we see Lisa’s mom standing next to Minnie, she lands on the A of GAME. This puzzle triggered a $100K loss towards the end of 2008 in S26…

_ _ _ _ L E
_ _ E N T

PCHO only adds the vowel…

_ O _ _ L E
_ _ E N T

No guess from her, so she let this DOUBLE AGENT slip away w/ the $50K she could’ve won.

Disney Ambassador Jada Young presents Ryan a Disney cast member name tag and a set of Mickey ears for his 20 years of work w/ ABC and Disney. And Ryan gives Vanna a set of Mickey ears w/ the “V Dubs” nickname.

MY RATING: 2

This episode was truly a lump of coal. We just couldn’t recover from this deep hole.

Lisa lucked out w/ a Hawaii trip. Sadly, she couldn’t earn a big tip.

Through trials, vowels, and consonants, we strive, w/ optimism’s flame, we’ll stay alive.

Hopefully somebody tomorrow can go very far and become a big star.

WoF Recap: December 9, 2024 — START OF SECRET SANTA’24

December 9, 2024December 10, 2024andynwof3 Comments

‘Twas the start of the sweepstakes and Christmas was near. We recappers hope to be in good cheer.

Not much magic happened in Pat’s last-ever Secret Santa for the most part. That was surely to break a kid’s heart.

This year, Ryan’s taking the reins in his first-ever Secret Santa as host. He’s looking to give away tons of cash and prizes, which is what we value the most.

Before I go cruising next week, I’m bringing you the action all week long. And as Christmas comes near, I’ll put on my favorite holiday song.

EPISODE #8076: 🎄DISNEY SECRET SANTA HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY I🎄

Mickey and Pluto greet the hosts as they come through the video wall doors.

S _ _ _ E R

MHDA gives her…

She remembered her BRIDAL SHOWER for $40K and a final total of $51,016 cash & WDW.

Jim plugs in the Adventures by Disney trip provider. Donald and Pluto appear in the close.

MY RATING: 5

Well, the wheel was very mean. The results weren’t very clean.

Sunita was quite lucky she got out of this mess. Solving her BR puzzle made us yell out “YES!”.

Though merry it wasn’t from the start to the end, the triumphs and stumbles beautifully blend.

Don’t forget to scan the QR code for your chance to win. Getting lots of cash and prizes will make you grin.

Hi folks, one week from today, my and I are going to be cruising to the Southern Caribbean for 12-days (we’ll be celebrating Christmas onboard). The ship will dock on the morning of Dec. 27, and I should be able to make it home on time to cover the Friday episode of Sixth Episode Week II. Here’s who’s gonna be doing what on this small vacation…

Week of December 16 (Disney Secret Santa II): @jbeaugard01 recaps the first three episodes, @jpgenius recaps Thursday, and @jliu23232 recaps Friday and the stats.

Week of December 23 (Sixth Episode Week II): Justin recaps Monday, Jerry recaps Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and JPGenius covers Thursday.

I’ll also be here for all during New Year’s Day week but on the week of January 6, my family and I have a BIG 7-week vacation to Asia. The majority of my family’s vacation will be in Vietnam, but we’ll also be visiting other places like Malaysia annd the Philippines and also revisiting Taipei and Singapore. It will last until late February 21. I’ll be discussing with my fellow admins via email on who’s doing what weeks on the bigger vacation after me and my family get home from our Caribbean cruise.
